2011 Matt’s Mile and 5k
Come to Run, Stay for Fun!
Friday, October 7, 2011 5:00PM

Matt was a 12-year-old who loved to run. In the spring of 2008, he ran the Reach out and Run 5k in 22:21. He followed that up in May by taking first in the mile for 5th and 6th Graders in the Catholic Conference Meet with a time of 6:13. Later that fall, he took first in his age group with a time of 21:27 in the Run on the Prairie 5k. It was his last race.
To honor his love of running and to celebrate what would have been his 15th birthday, we created Matt’s Mile and 5k.
Please join us for this inaugural event. Bring your friends and neighbors along for a wonderful night of outdoor fun! There will be fresh air, friendly competition and food for everyone! All proceeds will benefit the 12 Oaks Foundation whose mission is to provide grants to families in need to cover the costs of sports and community activities for their kids.
Matt would have loved this. 12 Oaks Foundation is his legacy.

Who We've Helped
Dear Steve and Julie,
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you so much! Your generosity is greatly appreciated!!!! M. loved the photo activities this week and the kids are very excited about baseball starting soon. P. didn't do a fund raiser this weekend so instead our family volunteered together packaging food for starving children. I think they said that our shift of volunteers packaged almost 5,800 meals. Enjoy Spring and thank you again for your support and prayers.
God Bless your family and Twelve Oaks.
Hoopsters Basketball Camp
July 11-15, Lake Zurich
Twelve Oaks was pleased to help sponsor the Hoopsters Basketball camp. The camp was held at St. Francis church during the week of July 11-15. Hoopsters camp was available for kids in grades 1-8 whose families are experiencing financial hardship. Camp fees were covered through community and business sponsorships.
