Matt’s Mile and 5k
Come to Run, Stay for Fun!
Friday, October 4, 2013 5:00PM

Matt was a 13-year-old who loved to run. In the spring of 2008, he ran the Reach out and Run 5k in 22:21. He followed that up in May by taking first in the mile for 5th and 6th Graders in the Catholic Conference Meet with a time of 6:13. Later that fall, he took first in his age group with a time of 21:27 in the Run on the Prairie 5k. It was his last race.
To honor his love of running, we created Matt's Mile and 5k.
Please join us for our 3rd year. Bring your friends and neighbors along for a wonderful night of outdoor fun! There will be fresh air, friendly competition and food for everyone! All proceeds will benefit the 12 Oaks Foundation whose mission is to provide grants to families in need to cover the costs of sports and community activities for their kids.
Can you beat Matt’s Time?
Put yourself to the test and win! All Runners that beat Matt's mile time of 6:13 or Matt's 5k time of 21:27 will be entered into a special raffle. At least 5 gifts will be raffled off to these top runners. Winners will be picked during the award ceremony, and must be present to receive a gift.

The Oak Tree
A mighty wind blew night and day. It stole the oak tree's leaves away, Then snapped its boughs and pulled its bark Until the oak was tired and stark. But still the oak tree held its ground While other trees fell all around. The weary wind gave up and spoke, - Johnny Ray Ryder Jr. |
